Droylsden piled on the runs and the misery on Milnrow, surpassing 400 despite losing the toss.
Matt Halliday scored 133 and he was supported mainly by Sai Kumar and Richard Mooney who both got a score in the 70s. Alex Jones also picked up superb figures with the ball, taking 8/32 to lead Droylsden to a massive 296 run victory, which moves them out of the bottom 4.
At the top, Mottram made light work of Prestwich 2s to take 6 points and remain just ahead of Stretford who won a tighter game, defending 139 at Dukinfield. Oliver Andrew took 5 wickets for Mottram, and Syd De Silva took 6/26 for Dukinfield but ended up on the losing side. Oldham won a tight low scoring game at home to Golborne – chasing 123 with just 2 wickets remaining. Elsewhere, Austerlands, Hadfield St Andrews and South West Manchester all comfortably completed their run chases after strong bowling performances. Hadfield St Andrews’ Cameron Ball came out with the best figures in those games, taking 5/38.#
