Open invites to U17 players & clubs in GMCL & SMJCL for Mon July 9th (50 overs match)

27 Jun 2018

Are you or does your club have talented U17s cricketers who fancy their chances against a Select Australian Touring Cricket Academy?
Then please accept our open invitation to GMCL & SMJCL Club’s U17s players, to be a part of our annual and much anticipated League Select XI vs Shaun Brown’s International Cricket Academy (Melbourne) Australian Select UK Tour XI in a 50 overs each match to be held here at
Wythenshawe CC, Longley Lane, Northenden on Mon 9th July 11am start (meet 10am)

We welcome nominations for talented players who have represented their club at senior/district or county level.
The Australian touring squad are all emerging pathway players from Victoria & New South Wales (NSW) Australian Tour coach this year is Phil O’Meara,
Phil is a long time senior player in Australia and former first class player with Western Australia.
This really is a brilliant experience for players should they be selected to play, many previous years players have all expressed that it was a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ to play against talented players not just from overseas but from Australia!!

We therefore extend our invite this year to other fellow GMCL & SMJCL clubs, coaches, parents & officials to send nominations in the first instance, with an individual player profile to Tracy Bailey via email: as soon as possible (deadline day Friday 6th July)

All players must have permission from school or college to have a days leave, usually schools/colleges are very receptive, as experiences like this count as sports honours for the player & their educational establishment.
Please send nominations ASAP so we can confirm & publish the squad via social media platforms & in order that Lancashire Cricket Foundation can further promote the event as promised.

Everyone is welcome to come down & support on the day itself, it really is a fabulous day to showcase youth cricket from around the North West & of course Australia.

Players will be guests of our club & will each receive a free cricket tea, along with a fantastic match day experience, drinks/refreshments will be available separately for players families, guests and additional supporters.

I look forward to receiving emails of your player nominations very soon, please share with other representatives from your clubs and league to help to create a strong representative squad.
Regards & thanks,
Tracy Bailey
