Division 3E
Week 14

No change at the top and still all to play for

Good all round team perfromances in strong wins keeps Friarmere and Oldham 2s neck and neck at the top.
The rest of the top 6 (bar Greenfield who had a COVID break)  all won as well so Friends United and Flowery were able to close up on Greenfield.

Closest game of the day was Friends 1 wicket win at Mottram as they chased down 220 with 1 wicket and 1 over to spare. Paul Marks 70 and Stefan Fielding's 65 led the way for Mottram but Saqib Butts 6 for 44 kept it interesting and then he opened the batting scoring 82 off 55 to give his team a great chance and they took it with the middle order all adding to the score despite Paul Marks adding to his runs with 4 for 52 and Alisdair Brown also getting 4 for 51.

Werneth's Kashif Khan continues to pile on the runs and the division's best individual score of the day, another 106, takes his tally to 602 for the season to date then he added 5 for 55 for a great day for the all-rounder.  Ellis Helire-Catheral scored a creditible 72 as they posted 185.

The only other 50 was at Dukinfield as David Dickin scored 56 at the top of the order as they chased 123 and won by 3 wickets,

No change in the individuals tables. Werneth's Kashif Khan leads the batting in 3E with 602 @75.25 , In the bowling it is  Andy Barber (Flowery Field) leading with 26 @10.55 but team mate Simon Woods leads the averages with 26 @8.19.  Kashif Khan (Werneth) now leads the MVP with 167 points.

At the end of the 2021 season

  • 3 teams will be promoted from this Divivision into Tier 5,
  • 4 teams will be relegated from Tier 5 into this Division,

Division 3E
Week 13

There's just one point in it at the top of the table.

Friarmere 2s now lead on Net Run Rate over Oldham with Greenfield 1 point behind.

Friarmere won at Flowery Field in a close one to win by 9 runs. Mohammed Munir's 47 at number 8 was the leading score for Friarmere and he also took 3 for 39 but it was Imran Khan Shami's 5 for 45 that helped limit the Flowery score. Oldham's result is still to be posted. Mottram were bowled out for 106 by Greenfield with Aadam Ali and Jack Livesey doing the damage. In reply Greenfield took it slowly and won by 4 wickets after 35 overs with Joshua Lees holding it all together with 50 in 97 balls.

Werneth gp 4th after beating Hadfield St Andrews with Kashif Khan's 6 for 20 key to bowling out HSA for 145. It ws only a 3 wicket win though and it was Kashif with 38 and Rashi Khan's 40 that drove them home.

This division is going to be tight all season with only 2 wins separating the top 9 clubs and in the middle of the table Heywood jumped above Moorside after beating them comfortably with 54 from Ben Wood and 41 from Mikey Grogan.

In the final game Newton Heath showed they havent given up the fight yet as they aim to catch that pack of 9 as they beat Dukinfield and won by 5 wickets scoring 199 in 25.5. overs as they chased down Duki's 198 for 9. Dukinfields openers Matt Murphy and Shahdab Raja had put on 142 for the first wicket in 30 overs so they looked set for a big score but three wickets fell with the score on 150 and Luke Barrow took 6 for 50 to limit the visitors score. There's no doubt that Michael Clewlow was Newton Heath's batting start with 117 off 69 balls and he was out just 7 short of the target which was then easily reached.

Werneth's Kashif Khan leads the batting in 3E with 496 runs @70.86, In the bowling it is  Andy Barber (Flowery Field) leading with 26 @10.35 but team mate Simon Woods leads the averages with 23 @8.13.  MVP is now Kashif Khan (Werneth) with 135.22 points.

Oldham now lead by just 5, and the next 6 clubs are separated by just a bonus point win.
