The GMCL 1st Team League Cup final sponsored by Tetleys was played on Sunday 18th August at Royton Cricket Club. Finalists were Westleigh CC and Shaw CC.
Winning the toss, Shaw asked Westleigh to bat first and this proved to be a good decision with Westleigh scoring 104 all out.
Best of the bowling was Jack Boyle with 4-18 and Daniel Pool with 3-34. Jamil Stewart top scored for Westleigh with 41.
After the break, Shaw made a cautious start until Lincoln Roberts came in and scored a quick fire 37. Despite Jamil Stewart's best efforts with the ball - with 4-22 - Shaw ran out winners by 5 wickets with 19 overs left to play.
Player of the match went to Jamil Stewart.
The game was played in a great spirit in front of a decent sized crowd.
