UPDATE: CHAMPIONS Lancashire Over 60's (1st & 2nd XIs) in National Finals

6 Sep 2019

I am delighted to inform you that Lancs 1stXI retained their National title with a comprehensive victory  over Somerset at Oxford this week.

Our star man was Glen Bullock who hit a magnificent  131 in Lancs's total of 273-4 in 45 0vers. In reply Somerset were always up against it and found themselves 29-3,

they eventually limped to 129 ao, with Chris Dearden and Billy Smith each bagging 3 wickets to earn the holders a 145 run win.

The 2nd XI were narrowly beaten and after posting 147 ao ( Tony Bennett 59), Surrey reached their target in the 45 and final over with two balls remaining, 147-7.

A full scorecard can be viewed on National 60+70's Cricket Championships under Results Section.

So Lancs retained the title they won last year and a full evenings celebration followed when we returned to our hotel in Bicester.

Thanks,

Regards,

John Sharples ( Lancs Manager )
