Statement
The recent statement from the ECB focuses on professional cricket although it would suggest that there will be no recreational cricket until at least the 1st July and, in all likelihood, much later.
Until we know more, it is difficult to come to any conclusions but we have competitions ready to go for all eventualities, although we are dependent on advice from Government, the ECB and LCF.
If the recreational game is allowed to start the practical issues of managing the games will require careful consideration and will require clubs to consider in the light of advice relative to their own clubs layout and facilities.
In all of this we are acutely aware that our clubs need to remain financially solvent and able to play cricket at some point in the future so we would urge all clubs to take advantage if eligible of the various grants and loans available through the Government, ECB and other sources. If you require any advice on this matter please contact the League via club-director@gtrmcrcricket.co.uk and we will do our best to assist.
In the meantime, please stay safe, follow the advice and look forward to the sound of bat on ball.
