Important All Clubs to Read, Understand and Act.
We have now received confirmation from Oldham Council that recreational cricket is permitted to safely continue at ECB Stage 4 adaptive game play with immediate effect to comply with requirements of all parties involved and as a result all fixtures can proceed as planned.
We would like to record our thanks to all those involved in making this happen from all those on GMCL Board, from the LCF, from the ECB and particularly those Oldham council employees who have helped push this through with so much for them to deal with.
The decision yesterday to postpone all junior cricket was precautionary from all parties and taken following advice and we would like to place on record our appreciation to all affected clubs, parents and players for their understanding in what are difficult times.
The GMCL, following ECB and Government advice, has seen cricket start again and our thanks goes to all clubs for the manner in which the new adaptive play has been implemented and for your efforts to introduce the new arrangements for your clubhouses and changing rooms.
We remain in a very severe situation and we all must continue to maintain our social distancing and ensure all those involved in the game or visiting your club comply with the guidance and advice which is designed to keep your members, players, umpires, spectators and everyone of one us safe.
