GMCL2021 GMCL20 Premier – Pool Games 2 July

Pool 1 - one to qualify for the Quarter-Finals - DSL Saints qualify
Pool 1 finished as scheduled with the top two playing the last game and DSL made it maximum points for the pool games with Neil Hornbuckle making 100 unbeaten in 38 balls having taken three wickets in the Flowery innings. Neil and Matt Sonczak lead the batting for the pool, with with 254 runs each. and Neil leads the bowling with 12 wickets in Pool 1.

Pool 2 - two to qualify for the Quarter-Finals - Prestwich Heat qualify

The Heat smashed the Bullsharks with a 10 wicket win chasing down 124 in just 7.4 overs and another unbeaten 100 as Ryan Stanbury took just 28 balls.
The Heat followed this up with a staggering win over the Wildboyz posting 282 (thats over 14 runs per over) and this time Ryan Stanbury blasted a brilliant 189 off 72.

It's between Clifton and Woodbank for the second qualifier with the Kingfishers in the box seat with the points on the board. They still have to play each other.

Unsurpringly Ryan Stanbury leads the batting for the whole of Pool 1 with a total of 409 at an aaverage of 81.8, great work. It is the Heat's Aaryaman Roy who leads the wicket takers in Pool 2 with 12 victims. 

Pool 3 - two to qualify for the Quarter-Finals - Mavericks & Hyenas qualify

With Hyenas v Thunder result still outstanding it is the Mavericks who lead the way with 15 pts and the Hyenas are 3 behind needing a win to top the table but they are now both through to the quarters.
There has been 4 games in the Pool this week with Moorside picking up two wins over the Kings and the Uproar. The Mavericks 214 against the Kings was the highest score of the week and the stand out performances of the week all came in that game with 50s for overseas Wilkinson and pro Snyman but it was Richard Harrington in the wickets again with 5 for 13 off his alloted 4 overs to make it tough for the visitors. 

Kings' Muhammed Mohsin leads the way in the pool 3 batting with 269 @67.25 and Shaw's Dilanka Sandakan who is the leading wicket taker in the GMCL20 Premier comp with 13 @9.85; Richard Harrington has 10 wickets at the best average of 8.20.

Pool 4 - one to qualify for the Quarter-Finals

Earthquakes game with the Bulls will decide who goes through in Pool 4 with the Fury currently top by just a single point over the Earthquakes. 
The Earthquakes had posted 178 with Dave Hamnett's 46 the best; The Bullets fell 18 short depsite Bradley Yates' 84 off 50 balls, Mubashir Hassan took 5 for 22 for the Earthquakes to halt the Bullets innings.

Chris Brownlow led the way for the Fury with an unbeaten 71 (40) and had their best bowling at 2 for 29. The Bullet's Irfan had the best bowling of 3 for 2 off 3 but was unable to prevent the Fury chasing successfully.

Pool 5 - one to qualify for the Quarter-Finals
Roe Green's 8 wicket win against the Fire put the Renegades top of the pile by 3 with only a big win frim the Fire over the Gladiators can see the Fire qualify.
 Joe Sith-Butler's 2 for 27 was the best bowling of the game as he helped restrict the Fire to 123 and his 51 not out as opener was the highest score of the game as they chased down the total with 3 full overs to spare.
In the other game this week mayhem's 178 was too many for the Gladiators with Aamir Riaz top scoring with 71 also taking 3 for 26 to limit the Gladiators and leaving them 34 short
